About Me

I am a professional genealogist living in the Delaware / Maryland area.  I have over ten years of research experience on families from Connecticut to South Carolina to Tennessee.  I hold myself to the highest standards of accuracy in genealogy research.

I am also a published genealogical author and lecturer.

I am a Certified GenealogistSM (Certificate no. 1018). In order to achieve the Certified Genealogist recognition, and use of the CG designation, I submitted examples of my work products to be judged by other Certified Genealogists. For more information, visit the Board for the Certification of Genealogists® website.

Certified Genealogist and CG are proprietary service marks of the Board for Certification of Genealogists® used by the Board to identify its program of genealogical competency evaluation and used under license by the Board’s associates.

I am currently serving as the Vice-President of the National Capital Area (Washington, D. C.) chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG). I was elected for another two-year term in January 2011.

My specialties include Maryland genealogy, Delaware genealogy, Civil War research, and African-American genealogy. I have done extensive research on slave families in Maryland, and the U. S. Colored Troops during the Civil War.
